As mentioned previously, I got a new iPod shipped to me from Apple. After my don’t-fuss-over-your-iPod-or-you’ll-get-obsessed-with-it policy failed I decided to get a skin for it. Unfortunately here in St. Catharines the only options left in store were pink, so I decided that this could be a flimsy pretext for a trip the Apple Store in Buffalo.
On the way back I decided to take a bit of a road trip through both sides of the Niagara gorge. I took pictures of the two power generation stations, pictures of the lake from the docks at Lewiston and the Brock Monument, then a quick stop through Naigara-On-The-Lake and then took some (I think) really cool pictures of the St. Catharines Dry Docks at night. These pictures reflect my own tastes for cool tones and engineering and monolithic subjects (Not that I’m any Ansel Adams, or Adam for that matter).
The actual galleries are sorted by subject, and some of the tones don’t match because I played with the saturation for some cool surreal effects – but they break the continuity.
You can also check out all of my other galleries and projects here.
New iPod in 6 Days, that’s 4 work days. At this time last week I wasn’t reloading my iPod I was scrambling to back it up.
I don’t want to garner the label of Mac Apologist (have I mentioned how much I hate OS9?), and I defiantly wish my first iPod had just worked; but I’m impressed with how fast the new iPod arrived and the limited hassle and updates I received in the process.
I’ve got 60G+ of music because I digitize everything, so getting the music back is not a problem. What I do wish I had was my playlists and song ratings.
I’d also forgotten the caution the iPod gave me when I first got it. Oops.
This is Wednesday’s Ontario farmer’s (well, the Lanark Landowners Association’s) protest map towards downtown Toronto. Ontario farmer’s plan to drive this route with their tractors to make a point about the economic viability of Ontario farms and the level of farm subsidies in Ontario.

This is a better protest map that would direct their concerns to those who can affect chages: the US Congress & Senate, who are the real problems with farm subsidies .

I heard Sheila Rogers give this quote on the CBC today:
Charlotte Whitton (1896-1975), former mayor of Ottawa once said, “Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.”
