The F1 Magazine D-Type.

The trip into Switzerland was hard on the bus. We had to wait at a rest stop for the engine to cool off, but we saw that Jag driving home from the 1000 mile Italian rally.

The Swiss have dug tunnels through the mountains for through highways, including one 14kms long! The rest stop in the middle is run by elves!

We stopped in Luzern for a little shopping and cheap Swiss Army knives etc.

I don't know what they have against weiner-dogs in Luzern, but you can't bring them on this bridge.
<This is the chapel bridge > that spans the main river in Luzern.
You'll notice that this section is diff rent then the earlier section - careless smoking.

The train down to Interlaken.

Downtown Interlaken.

You'll notice that this Taxi cab's logo is the Toronto Blue Jay's logo.

I don't know why Adam took this picture, but this is how the Swiss serve a Cappuccino, at least it's a good size.
This is a military airfield which is not on any map and is now closed down. It is the highest airport in Europe and the hangers actually burrow into the mountain! This picture is from airliners.net...
...this is how the airfield looked when we passed it in the cog train leaving the town of Wengen.

Here is a map of the Interlaken/Jungfrouw area we where in.
It's too bad that it was way too overcast for us to go up the mountian to the highest point in Europe (and location of the Bond file You Only Live Twice)

Our Feelings About Switzerland

While in Switzerland we noticed how all the doors swung perfectly (including automatic ones), the trains ran on time and everything was so clean. It did make me think of what Canada could be if we didn't buy so many American products.

I have seen a lot of Switzerland in Ontario, Canada. The place where my parent's cottage is was named Geneva Park because it reminded the founder of home. Also up near Algoquin park is place called Interlaken! Then there's the Shania Twain connection, but I'm no expert on that.

Our friend Harry found the bra left in our room - Ah Australia, where then men are men.

Here's the bar at our camp site - The Bomb Shelter - every residence in Switzerland must have a bunker within 45m.

Apparently everyone leaves there underwear around our chalet. This was spotted just by the main drive on the way out.
