{"id":188,"date":"2005-10-06T14:35:12","date_gmt":"2005-10-06T19:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mattclare.ca\/wordpress\/?p=188"},"modified":"2005-10-17T14:32:59","modified_gmt":"2005-10-17T19:32:59","slug":"apple-oct-12-event-one-more-thing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mattclare.ca\/blog\/2005\/10\/06\/apple-oct-12-event-one-more-thing\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Oct 12 Event: One more thing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple is getting everyone excited abou their Oct 12 event (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2005\/10\/04\/AR2005100401387.html\">Apple stirs product speculation over Oct 12 event, <i>Washington Post<\/i><\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>Given that I was right about the G5 PowerBook never coming I&#8217;m going to speculate on this one too, we&#8217;ll see how I do.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;One more thing&#8217; will be a second core on the G4 PowerBooks.  <\/p>\n<p>The core of a chip is the part of the chip that does the thinking and the rest (the die, etc.) are the parts that get all the information in and out of it. <\/p>\n<p>Others are predicting a video iPod, but that&#8217;s my guess.  We&#8217;ll see next week.  For now the best article is over at PC World, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pcworld.com\/techlog\/archives\/000966.html\" class=\"blueCBold18\">Hey, Let&#8217;s Speculate Idly on Apple&#8217;s Next Announcement!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>UPDATE:  OK, so I was wrong, but I gave it a try.
