The first step towards a degree in Education: I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m on the cover of the Ontario College of Teachers\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 quarterly publication \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cProfessionally Speaking\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d. The magazine was doing a profile on the 40th graduating class of education students at Brock University. I just work at Brock, and graduated with an honours degree in Communications Policy \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 but apparently it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s all about who you know.<\/p>\n

A prof who I had worked with was coordinating the photo shoot and knew where he could quickly grab some \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153attractive young people\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 who weren\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t dressed in black. So one moment Giulia (dressed in pink — and actually an Education grad in Brock\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s 39th year) and I were working in our respective offices, the next moment we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re in a photo shoot for the cover of Professionally Speaking.<\/p>\n

In the end it wasn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t a total free ride. When my parents received their copy (both teachers) they did not see their son since there was a cell phone ad covering Giulia and myself.<\/p>\n
